Hey there – welcome to What a Read. We're super happy you found us and we’ll always try our best to make sure your order goes smoothly and turns out just right.
What a Read is all about personalized books that are made specially for a kid – every single one is built around the name you give us. The site you’re using (whataread.com) is run by us – What a Read, based out of Diagonal, Barcelona.
If you ever want to reach out, just send us a message at hello@whataread.com. We’re here to help.
These Terms cover the basics of using our website and how we go about fulfilling orders. It’s not the most thrilling read, but it helps keep things clear. By browsing the site or placing an order, you’re kind of saying you’re cool with all this.
We might update these Terms now and then – usually to fix or clarify stuff, or if laws change. If something major changes, we’ll try to let you know, but just checking this page once in a while is a good idea.
When we say “you” or “buyer” we mean the person placing the order.
“Order” is just what you bought from us.
“Product” means the book (or books) you’re buying.
“Contract” is the agreement between us when you confirm your order and we say yes to it.
“Price” includes the cost of the product, taxes if they apply, and shipping.
You agree to play nice and follow the rules when browsing our site. Don’t do anything shady or that breaks laws where you live.
When you submit an order, you’re saying you’ve got the right to use the content you’ve typed (like names or dedications). We reserve the right to cancel or tweak things if something seems off or doesn’t follow our guidelines.
All the stuff on this site – images, code, logos, book designs – is ours, or sometimes licensed to us. You can use it for personal reasons, like browsing or buying, but you can’t copy, sell, or remix it for anything commercial without checking with us first.
You place an order by filling out the form and going through the steps on our site. Prices are shown clearly before you confirm.
We make books to order, so once your order is confirmed by us, we get started pretty quick. That said, we can refuse an order if something doesn’t look right or isn’t possible to fulfill.
We try to show colors and previews accurately on the site, but every screen’s a bit different, so final prints may look slightly off from what you saw online.
Also, sometimes stuff changes – like updates to products or pricing – so the site may not always be 100% up to date.
Prices are listed in the checkout. If something’s priced wrong by mistake, we’ll let you know before sending it out. If it’s cheaper than it should be, lucky you – we’ll usually honor the lower price.
If your delivery is outside the EU, there might be extra taxes or import duties once the book hits your country. That’s out of our hands and up to local customs.
Payments go through trusted third-party providers. We don’t store your card info – that’s all handled securely on their end. You’ll probably have to agree to their terms too.
We’ll ship to the address you give us, using standard delivery unless we agree on something else.
Orders might come in more than one package, depending on what you’ve ordered. Each delivery counts as a separate piece of the full order.
We’ll aim to get your book made and shipped in the estimated time, but sometimes delays happen (printing, holidays, courier issues – life stuff). If there’s a major delay, let us know and we’ll sort it.
Please check your package when it arrives. If it’s damaged, sign it as damaged, or let the courier know. If not, it counts as received in good condition.
Couriers usually try delivery up to 2 times. If no one’s around and it comes back to us, you’ll need to pay for reshipping.
Since every book is custom-made, we can’t take returns just because you changed your mind. That said, if your book is damaged or there’s a mistake we caused, we’ll absolutely fix it or refund you.
If your book never arrives (within 40 days from when you ordered), or it comes with a defect, send us a message as soon as you notice it. We’ll need to see proof and we’ll work it out from there.
Just shoot us an email at hello@whataread.com and we’ll take it from there.
Once we’ve handed the book off to the courier, it’s kind of your responsibility – unless something’s gone seriously wrong that was our fault.
Ownership officially switches to you when we get full payment, including delivery and any other stuff related to the order.
We work hard to keep the site running smooth and the info accurate. But yeah, sometimes there might be a bug or a typo or something not updated yet – it happens.
We can’t promise the site will work perfectly all the time or be totally secure (though we try), and we’re not liable for things like internet glitches, delivery delays, or small differences between what’s on screen and what shows up in your mailbox.
If something really goes sideways and it’s our fault, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for that order.
Please don’t use our site to do anything that’s harmful or illegal. If you do, you agree to cover any legal issues, costs, or damages that might come up because of that.
We can take the site down or block access to someone if we have to, without a ton of warning. Hopefully never needed, but it’s there just in case.
We’ve got a separate Privacy Policy that explains how we use your personal data. It’s part of these Terms, so go check it out if you haven’t already.
These Terms follow the laws in Spain (since we’re based in Barcelona) and any disagreements would go through the local courts here.
